MBAs and engineers can learn from each other
Engineers have a role to play in teaching MBAs, says Professor Simon Mosey, writing in the Financial Times Soapbox column.
An expert in innovation and entrepreneurship, Simon Mosey argues that there has been too much focus on short-term financial performance in UK manufacturing in the past twenty years.
Big economic challenges, he says, require radical innovation, and business schools have an important role to play in making that possible.
Business schools need to cultivate creative and innovative approaches and environments in which breakthorugh technologies can flourish, he says. Such an approach is necessary to achieve significant economic revival and genuine sustainability.
