Anna Soulsby is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour. She has extensive experience of teaching and dissertation supervision on national and international undergraduate and post-graduate business and management programmes. Since the early 1990s she has conducted research on organisational and managerial change in Central and Eastern Europe, in particular the Czech Republic. She has been a frequent visiting lecturer on undergraduate and post-graduate business management programmes at Czech and Polish universities. She has also acted as an external examiner and academic adviser on the development of management and business education to Czech, Polish and Bulgarian universities. In 2012 she was given a special award recognition of 20 years of development of international cooperation from the Dean and Rector of the Faculty of Business and Management, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic.

Anna Soulsby is recognised as an authority on organisational change in transforming and societies, especially of the new former post-socialist states of the European Union. She is the co-author (with E. Clark) of Organizational Change in Post-Communist Europe (1999, Routledge: London). The results of her research have been published in top tier international journals (e.g. Human Relations, Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Europe-Asia Studies, and International journal of Human Resource Management) and presented at leading international conferences. In 2007, she co-edited a special issue of Human Relations: "Organization theory and the Post-Socialist Transformation" (Vol. 60, No. 10). She has convened special panels at international conferences (e.g. European Group for Organization Studies) exploring the consequences of the societal and economic changes in Central and Eastern Europe. Her research was specially cited (E. Clark and A. Soulsby. (1998) "Organization-Community Embeddedness: Social Impact of Enterprise Restructuring in the Post-Communist Czech Republic". Human Relations, 51 (1), pp. 25-50) in the special Human Relations anniversary issue editorial: Loveridge, R.; Willman P. and Deery, S. (2007) "60 Years of Human Relations" Human Relations, Volume 60 (12), pp. 1873-1888.

In 2009 (to date), Anna Soulsby was appointed by the UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to serve as a member of the Export Guarantee Advisory Council (EGAC). The Council is a statutory body that advises the United Kingdom's Minister for Trade and Investment (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills) on UK Export Finance ( UKEF , (the Export Credits Guarantee Department, the government's official export credit agency) operations and provide advice policies and practices to enable it to comply with its objectives and monitor its adherence to its business principles i.e. environmental impacts and human rights; sustainable lending practices; anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices; and disclosure (freedom of information). The Council does not provide advice on decisions UKEF makes to support individual export transactions and projects, but does carry out reviews after support has been given to understand how UKEF's principles and policies are applied in practice. As appropriate, it also gives advice on how these might be further developed. The Council has eight members, who come from industry, government and academia, and are appointed by the Secretary of State. Members of the Export Guarantee Advisory Council have expertise in many areas of business including: emerging markets; developing societies; international development; corporate social responsibility; corporate governance and the promotion of sustainable development.
