World-Class Research

RAE 2008 confirms our position as an elite research-led business school, rating 70% of our research activity as either internationally excellent or world-leading. Investing in the support, production and dissemination of high level research is a cornerstone of the School's strategy.

The School hosts a number of leading research centres and institutes, which reflect its distinctive strengths in areas such as corporate social responsibility, management buy-outs and enterprise and innovation.

Research strategy is led by Professor Alistair Bruce (Director of Research) with the support of a Research Directorate which includes senior representatives from each of the School's divisions. Significant financial assistance is available for conference attendance, study leave support and pump-priming of high-potential research projects. There is a strong Visiting Scholar scheme, active programmes of research seminars and research-focused staff development events and excellent administrative support for research funding bids.
