A careers adviser from the Careers and Employability Service is allocated to an academic School or department. This role will vary depending on the vocational nature of courses and on the particular needs of Schools. The core role is to:

  • provide a channel of communication between the Service and the School
  • provide support to Schools in issues relating to employability
  • establish regular contact with the appropriate School contact
  • plan and co-ordinate Service delivered events within the School
  • pool and share information on the destinations of graduates subject to the terms of the Data Protection Act
  • help employers, where appropriate, to communicate with Schools and their students
  • provide a first point of contact for Schools requiring any other assistance from the Service

Each School also have a dedicated careers contact who liaises with careers adviser.
