The Careers and Employability Service is responsible for the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (DLHE). The University of Nottingham, along with every higher education institution in the UK, is required by the government to conduct this survey and submit their data to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
The University of Nottingham also endeavours to collect destination data from international graduates and those not required by HESA. This data is collected alongside the HESA data collection. Both data sets are then merged for analysis and released to the University and available on this website.
Leavers with a recognised higher education qualification are contacted approximately six months after graduating with a first request to complete the survey either by post or online. The methodology and deadlines are strictly controlled by HESA and target response rates are shown below.

The destination data collected for international graduates has no set target. However, a 30% response rate was achieved in the last collection.
New software to interrogate destinations data
We have previously disseminated graduate destination statistics to academic Schools and central departments on a compact disk. However, we have secured a licence for a new web-based software which means that the destination data for 2008/09 can be accessed directly by University staff and you can interrogate the data by selecting a range of criteria.
The data viewed or extracted from Graduate Destinations should be used for the purpose of informing the University and academic Schools of what our graduates go on to do and should not be passed to external bodies or used for published materials. If you require any destination data for marketing purposes, please contact us.
How to access graduate destinations
Graduate Destinations is located on the staff portal "University" tab under Governance & Statistics. Simply log on to the staff portal.
Please email Jenny Patchitt or call her on extension 13681 if you have any queries.
