Finding funding is a priority for many postgraduates.

The University’s postgraduate prospectus funding page should be your starting point as this information is relevant wherever you study within the UK.

The Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding - contains sources of funding from charities and advice on how to appply. This guide is only accessible to University of Nottingham students because of licence arrangements.

  • Association of Charitable Foundations - information about grant making trusts and charitable organisations.
  • Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan - on this site you will find countries that are offering Commonwealth scholarships, who to contact in your own country as well as national agencies.
  • Funding for United States Study Online - search scholarship opportunities by country, field of study, location and programme name.
  • Prospects - a searchable database plus information on scholarships, bursaries, research councils and a useful video that covers the main funding schemes and explains how students can undertake postgraduate study.
  • Turn-2-us - Information about benevolent funds, grants and charitable trusts. They also welcome telephone enquiries from people wanting help with finding sources of funding.  

You could also consider getting a part-time job to help fund your studies.
