Part-time and vacation work

Student using a laptop

Finding a part-time or temporary job is important for most students. Nottingham is a vibrant city with successful businesses who want to recruit students into a range of jobs including retail, office work and catering.

We would advise you not to work more than 16 hours a week during term time so that your job does not interfere with your studies.

Students from the European Economic Area (EEA) can work in the UK without any restrictions. Students from Bulgaria or Romania must have a Yellow Registration Certificate before you start work. Most international students are eligible to work up to 20 hours a week during term time. You should check your eligibility to work by contacting the International Office.
