Volunteer in Nottingham

  • Student Volunteering Centre (SVC) - offers opportunities with over 100 projects. Part of the Students' Union with a convenient location in the Portland Building, University Park Campus.

University programmes

  • Community Internship Programme - share your skills and passion for local charities while gaining valuable work experience one day a week in the autumn term. There are a variety of roles available, and past interns have worked in areas such as research, marketing, project evaluation and data analysis. Applications will re-open in Spring 2018. Contact internships@nottingham.ac.uk for further information.
  • IntoUniversity Volunteer Scheme - provides the opportunity to work in education centres with primary and secondary school children to support their academic attainment and act as a mentor.

  • Community Service Volunteers - the UK's largest volunteering and training organisation, helps young people and adults to develop skills, build their confidence and improve their job prospects through their training and learning centres.
  • Do-It - offers almost 70,000 opportunities in a range of specialisms that you can apply to be part of online.
  • TimeBank - lists projects focusing on mentoring and youth-led volunteering, see others feedback about projects.
  • vInspired - aimed at getting 16-25 year olds into volunteering. You can search opportunities by location and areas of interest.
  • Volunteering England - information and guidance about volunteering in the UK and overseas.
  • Our vacancy service - updated regularly with short and long term opportunities in the UK and overseas.
 

Volunteer overseas

  • Go International - advice on opportunities in UK universities as well as fees and funding
  • Green Volunteers - online database of over 400 wildlife and conservation volunteering projects worldwide.
  • i-to-i - organises volunteering placements from two weeks to over two months and offers Teaching English as a Foreign Language courses.
  • Prospects - provides a dedicated webpage of information about volunteer work opportunities abroad.
  • Twin Work and Volunteer - offers a variety of volunteer projects around the world.
  • Volunteering Service Overseas (VSO) - recruits worldwide and offers specialist short-term projects, volunteer jobs and volunteering for 18-25 year old in over 30 countries.
  • WorldWide Volunteering (WWV) - has over 1.6 million volunteering opportunities available per year. Build a profile of your ideal volunteering project that can be matched against the projects in the database.
