Plans published for the new Centre for Advanced Studies/Graduate Centre building, University Park - update from Estates Office follows...
The University is due to commence construction of a new Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) and Graduate Centre. The centre comprises a refurbishment and extension to the grade 2 listed Highfield House on University Park. The development has received permission and listed building consent.
The building comprises various offices for academic and administration staff in CAS and the Graduate School. There are various meeting and seminar rooms and two floors of open plan interactive teaching and learning hubs for postgraduate use.
Construction is scheduled to start on site in September 2011, with completion due in summer 2012. The design team comprises Latham Architects (architect), DH Squire Consultants (services engineer), Price & Myers (structural engineer), Anderson Green (BREEAM) and Turner & Townsend (project manager and quantity surveyor).
