Robert Fish

Rob is human geographer by training with research interests in the culture and environment of rural areas. He is working on two RELU funded projects, the first examining the relationship between livestock farming and the transfer of pathogenic micro-organisms from land to water (2006-2008, CRPR, Exeter), the second developing more integrated strategies for containing animal diseases (2008-2011, CSWM Lancaster) He also working as a consultant to DEFRA on its new Natural Resource Programme in which he is developing tools and methodologies for examining the future of England's terrestrial ecosystems and collaborating with Michael Leyshon (Geography, Exeter) on an ESRC funded project examining the impact of voluntary environmental work on the lives and prospects of young people coming from rural areas (2006-2007). Rob aa co-organiser of the new ESRC/NERC Transdisciplinary Seminar Series "Sustaining Future Ecosystem Services" with Roy Haines-Young of the University of Nottingham.
