Welcome to the Brain & Body Centre

A Virtual Cross-Disciplinary Centre for the Neurosciences

The Brain & Body Centre coordinates teaching ( M.Sc. , seminars) and research activities (cross-departmental grants, data acquisition & analysis) in neuroscience, with a focus on the developing brain, brain & body interactions and brain plasticity.

We aim to establish a collective strategy towards greater academic coherence and impact in neuroscience research.

The Nottingham Child NeuroImaging Initiative

Ingenuity - MRI and the Developing Brain

We aim to bring radical innovation in brain imaging techniques, brain image analysis, and computational modelling to bear on the problem of understanding of brain development in health and disease.

This initiative is part of the University's Impact Campaign to tackle developmental brain disorders.

MSc in Brain Imaging

The School of Psychology offers an innovative Masters of Science based around Neuroimaging. The curriculum is highly interdisciplinary and covers key areas of cognitive neuroscience – from sensory and motor processes to executive functions – and methodological approaches such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG), electroencephalography (EEG) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). The programme combines lectures, practicals, and a hands-on research project.
