Using the library

As a member of the library you can use the resources and services at any of our 10 libraries in the UK. You will need to bring your University Card or Library Card with you to access the libraries and use the services.

Keep your library account secure

do not lend your card to anyone or allow anyone access to it
change your default Library PIN, four numeric digits, via The University of Nottingham Library Online Catalogue ( UNLOC ) and keep it secure
always close your account before walking away from a self-service machine to prevent other users issuing items to your account
you are responsible for all items issued to your card

Keep in touch

we will contact you at your University email address about requested items, overdue items, imminently due items and interlibrary loans
if your books are requested we will ask you to return them earlier so please check your email regularly if you have books on loan, including during vacations
letters will be sent by post to groups such as some nursing students, Continuing Education students and NHS staff, where we cannot extract an email address automatically from the University databases
letters will also be sent to those without email access. It is your responsibility to ensure that the library has the correct postal address
you should also check your user account on UNLOC regularly, which will tell you when each of your books are due back
