Welcome to the School of Psychology

The School of Psychology at the University of Nottingham has a reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. Our teaching is EXCELLENT as assessed by The Teaching Quality Assessment, and the results in the 2008 RAE Exercise judged 60% of our research activity to be 'internationally excellent' or 'world leading'.

We offer undergraduate degrees in Psychology, Psychology & Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology & Philosophy.

We also offer our BSc Single Honours in Psychology at our (External) Malaysia campus . Applications are welcome from highly qualified candidates from the UK and abroad.

We also offer several taught postgraduate degrees and, as an internationally renowned research school, research degrees leading to Mphil and PhD qualifications.

Our   research crosses a wide spectrum of psychological investigation. Virtually all staff contributed to the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2008), where the majority of our research was classed as either world leading or internationally excellent. We play a fundamental role in many University Institutes and Research Centres, including the Brain and Body Centre .

Studentships and bursaries are available for the best undergraduate and postgraduate students, from both the School and the University.

Student fees and finance for 2012/13

The University of Nottingham has announced plans to set undergraduate fees for full-time home and EU students at £9,000 from 2012. Fees do not have to be paid up-front and a generous package of bursaries will be available to support home students from lower-income families. Well over a third of our students will be eligible for our core bursaries, which offer up to £3,000 for each year of undergraduate study.

For further information please visit the Student fees and finance website .
