Professor Mike Jackson appointed as AGILE Chair

CGS's Director, Professor Mike Jackson, has been appointed as Chair of the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories of Europe (AGILE). He was appointed as a Member of AGILE's Council in 2010. Speaking at the Association's 2011 Annual Conference in Utrecht, Mike expressed his pleasure at taking on the role and spoke of the increasing importance of geospatial information to the Governments of Europe and for Europe's industrial competitiveness. The need for innovative GI research and effective knowledge transfer is greater than ever. AGILE and its member laboratories play a key role in helping Europe to define the necessary research agenda and to deliver world class research.
