Dvir was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. He started studying Jewish studies (Torah) from a very young age, and decided to continue deepening his connection to Judaism by studying in what is called a "Yeshiva". He studied in the "Yeshiva" for eight years, including a period in which he served in National Service. Six years in to his studies, Dvir decided to attend the Rabinical ordination tests in order to become a Rabbi. Through these studies he found a great connection to the roots of Judaism, along with the understanding that Judaism is very relevant to him and helps him cope with the modern world. Dvir has come to Nottingham to support Jewish life on campus and to offer a positive experience for every Jewish student in any way they are looking to participate.

Pe'er was born and raised in a small town outside of Jerusalem. At the age of 18 she served in the Israel National Service, supporting young adults who were sexually abused and removed from their homes. After finishing her service she studied Jewish studies (Torah) for two years in a seminar. These years were very influential for her and helped her find her own connection to Judaism and Religion. Following these years she started her B.A. in History and Comparative Religion at Hebrew University, whilst working as a tour guide in the Tower of David Museum in Jerusalem. Working and studying in the city made her fascinated by the holy city and made her interested in the roots and history of Jerusalem. Pe'er has come to Nottingham to create a loving "home away from home" for the Jewish students on campus, and to try and make an intellectual environment in which students can discuss their thoughts and feelings about Judaism and Religion.
