SWIFT Fellowship Programme

SWIFT

The SWIFT (Science With Innovation For Technology) Fellowship Programme is a new initiative currently at the pilot stage. The focus of the programme is to address the needs of the Chemistry-Using Industries in training the next generation of technically and commercially aware postdoctoral professionals at the interface between chemistry and chemical engineering.

The SWIFT programme consortium was originally assembled in response to a call for proposals under the HEFCE HEIF3 scheme. The programme has been continued by a lead cohort of 4 UK universities with the University of Nottingham as the lead institution - the other key partners being the Universities of Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester. The SWIFT Fellows participating in the 2006/07 pilot year have now completed their tenure and a new cohort of fellows is commencing the programme.

More specific information about the SWIFT scheme for all interested parties can be found on the SWIFT Website.
