Senior Research Officer, Faculty of Science
Dr. June McCombie studied for her Ph.D. from 1980 to 1983 with Prof. Geoff Duxbury in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bristol where her research involved infrared-infrared double resonance spectroscopy and submillimeter wave studies. She spent three years at the Laboratoire Photophysique Moleculaire (CNRS) in Orsay, France working in the laboratory of Professor Joelle Rostas, followed by a three year period with Professor Giacinto Scoles at Princeton University. In 1989 she joined the School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham, and is currently a Senior Research Officer. For some years her research focussed on the high resolution spectroscopy of clusters and clusters of large aromatic molecules. Her current research interests are in the area of observational and laboratory spectroscopic research in astrophysical chemistry and she works closely with the Astrophysical Chemistry Group.
