Registration and Inspection

blocksAll of our services are registered with Ofsted and both the Day Nursery and Play centre day care accept education funding for children aged 3 years and over (term following 3rd birthday).
Ofted reports are displayed in each setting and are available upon request.

Policy and procedure guide

This guide is available from all of our settings and covers areas such as building security, health and safety, vetting of visitors, complaints, staff conduct, confidentiality, child protection, outings, transport, fire safety, accidents, administration of medication, allergies and special diets, childhood illness, food and drinks, collection of children, curriculum, transition, equality of opportunity, special education needs, sleep time and parents evenings.
The policies and procedures are intended to act as guidelines of good practice to ensure the well being of all children. They allow for flexibility to take into account the specific circumstances of any given situation.
Copies of a specific policy is available upon request.

Quality Assurance

Childcare Services believes in continuous improvement and we are proactive in identifying ways in which our service can be improved. This includes feedback from customers (e.g. parents survey, transition survey), peer and manager observations of practice and feedback from external advisors (e.g. Early Years Advisor Teacher). Childcare Services is also audited for health and safety (internal and external audit), food hygiene (EHO and external audit) and general management (university audit)
Senior Early Years practitioners ensure daily and monthly health and safety checks in each unit are conducted that are available for inspection. We have suggestion boxes and welcome any ideas you have to improve our services to you and your family. We have an open-door policy, so if you have any comments, feedback or concerns we encourage you to share these with us.

Childcare Services Newsletter

In addition to notice boards in each of our settings, we produce a newsletter (3 per annum) to keep you up to date with any developments, achievements and changes.
We welcome contributions from you and look forward to receiving your articles.
