CPI fellows write on the need for Chinese students to develop all-round skills in China Daily

17/11/2011

Dr Bin Wu and Prof John Morgan called for Western universities to provide Chinese students studying outside China with opportunities to engage with wider society in a commentary published in China Daily. The article titled “Graduates need to develop all-round skills” was published on 14 November and can be accessed here.

“This cannot be achieved unless the links between the universities and community are enhanced so that students have more opportunities for voluntary work, for internships and for employment during the period of their academic study abroad, “ said Wu and Morgan.

Dr Bin Wu is a senior research fellow at the China Policy Institute, School of Contemporary Chinese Studies of the University of Nottingham in the UK, and Prof John Morgan is a senior fellow of the China Policy Institute, UNESCO chair of Political Economy and Education, School of Education of the same university, and chairman of the UK National Commission for UNESCO.
