The University of Nottingham is to lead the field in producing the next generation of world-class social scientists, after having been chosen by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) as one of only 21 Doctoral Training Centre’s across the country.
As a result, the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies is now accepting applications for the University of Nottingham ESRC funded studentships from UK citizens or ESRC fee studentship from EU citizens (especially those with very good academic performance). Applications may be made in the following areas that relate to the School’s key research interests on China:
-
Business and Economy
-
Politics and International Relations
-
Media, Society, and Social-Science Based Studies of Culture
-
Science, Technology, and Innovation
Studentships will be offered on a competitive basis, with an internal competition held in the School, prior to successful applicants being put forward to the University of Nottingham competition. Applications for the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies should be sent as soon as possible via the University on-line application system (to include transcripts, a research proposal, references and a sample of written work that does not exceed 3,500 words) no later than Thursday 15th March (noon) 2012.
