The School of Contemporary Chinese Studies’ PhD programme allows students to conduct in-depth research focusing on topics related to contemporary China. This includes a broad range of social sciences and business-related subjects as well as topics covering china policy through the School`s China Policy Institute. Research skills training

Research skills training is an important part of your PhD study programme, and a range of study skills seminars are facilitated by senior academics in the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies. 

The University’s Graduate School also runs a comprehensive programme of research skills training, and students are expected to attend relevant modules as agreed with their supervisors.
