Undergraduate

The School is rapidly expanding and developing study opportunities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We're proud of our single honours BA (Hons) Contemporary Chinese Studies course which combines in-depth study of China’s contemporary society, media, culture, economy, politics, geography and history with Mandarin Chinese from beginners’ to advanced level. Students can also study BSc (Hons) Business and Economy of Contemporary China. This programme is aimed at undergraduate students from the UK and Europe, North America and Asia with an interest in business, finance and economics of contemporary China.

MSci courses

These undergraduate masters degrees offer you opportunities to gain an unique insight into the rapid developments in China, with the flexibility of either a broad focus in the MSci Contemporary Chinese Studies, or the more specialised MSci Business and Economy of Contemporary China or MSci Global Issues and Contemporary Chinese Studies.

Why choose these degrees?

  • Unlike four year courses at other Universities, you’ll graduate after four years with a Masters degree rather than simply a BA degree
  • You’ll have the opportunity to spend your whole second year abroad at Nottingham’s China campus in Ningbo, China where you’ll gain first-hand experience of living and studying in China.
  • The programmes are structured yet flexible which allows you to tailor your programme of study to your own interests and career aspirations.
  • You will graduate with the dual advantage in today’s competitive jobs market of a highly regarded Masters qualification as well as international experience from your year spent in China.

Collaborative courses

We also offer a range of undergraduate courses in collaboration with Academic Schools across the University:
