New Lecturer in Public Health

Christopher Owens joined the Division of Epidemiology and Public Health as a Lecturer in Public Health in July 2012.

Prior to joining the University, Christopher was a Lecturer in Public Health at Coventry University. During Christopher’s time at Coventry University, he was seconded for a year to a research project in the area of children with complex care needs.

He also worked in the NHS as a Deputy Research Management and Governance Manager for the West Midlands (South) Comprehensive Local Research Network before joining Coventry University.

Christopher studied his first degree in Exercise and Health Sciences and then completed an MSc by Research in the area of mental health and wellbeing, both at the University of Gloucestershire. He then went on to complete a PhD in the area of physical activity and sedentary behaviour among adolescents at the University of Gloucestershire, which he completed in 2012.
