Professor Mike Pringle elected as next president of RCGP

Professor Mike Pringle, Emeritus Professor of General Practice at The University of Nottingham and Strategic Director of PRIMIS, has been elected as the next President of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) following a national ballot of its membership. 

Professor Pringle was Chairman of the RCGP from 1998-2001 and was awarded a CBE for Services to Medicine in 2001.  He will take up the presidency at the end of the Annual General Meeting on 16 November 2012, succeeding current President Dr Iona Heath.
