Biography

Dr Margaret Jones graduated from the Royal London Medical School in 1979, and then completed vocational training for general practice in 1983 as part of the Northumbria Vocational Training Scheme.

She worked as a GP partner with a role as a GP trainer from 1983-1996 in Gateshead, then moved to Nottingham and joined a practice there in 1996.

She then became involved in undergraduate education at the University of Nottingham, running the Primary Care final year attachment, as well as working for two days a week as the director of Primary Care education unit and one day per week as the clinical sub-dean for the medical school for the last five years. She is also still a GP part-time.
