Biography

GP Partner Kegworth surgery since 1986 and part time Associate Professor Nottingham Medical School

Special interests student support and guidance and career management

Active as GP and teacher for all years at medical school, and chaired course management groups for 4w 'Preparation for Foundation Training' and Career Management Group

Privileged to be invited to be Nottingham MedChi Society President for 2010/11. Devised an education programme (10 evening meetings,2 workshops) relevant to revalidation, and in collaboration with other medical groups eg LMC,RCGP, Medico-legal society.Several meetings specifically relevant also to medical students Eg Career Balloon Debate.

Careers Advisory Group chair for medical school

Initiated and edit the Nottingham Medical school Career Handbook (on NLE and East Midlands Deanery website)

Preparation for Foundation Programme 4w module ,final year medical school,(cohort 350)- devised with Professor Hall and chaired Course Management Group for 8 years

Still responsible for careers and some PPD input

Caroline Anderson is President Nottingham MedChi Society 2010/11- enhancing support for senior doctors including academics. 10 educational meetings relevant to revalidation with themes eg Leadership, environment, medico-legal joint meeting, LMC collaboration for medical media training

Four meetings sponsored by medical school and relevant to medical students eg Olympic Gold Dr (Tim Brabants), Balloon Careers Debate, Evolving the new Vet School (based on Medical School curriculum)

Large Charity component eg Medical Elective bursaries, various medical student prizes, senior doctor research and travel awards. Also President's charities, for 2010/11 Nottingham Children's Hosp Art appeal, Teenage Cancer Ward trust, Maggies Cancer Caring Centre.
