Current Research

Jane Horne's current research interest is stroke rehabilitation. Currently employed as a research occupational therapist on a multi-centred RCT 'Getting Out of the House' study, her role involves working with participants who have had a stroke and are not getting out as much as they would like. For more information on this study go to:

Previously, she was one of the treating therapists on a RCT 'DRESS study,' treating patients who had dressing problems after a stroke, and who were cognitively impaired. The study used the neuropsychological literature to compare this approach with routine care, delivered by occupational therapists on a stroke unit. For more information go to:

She is currently studying for an MPhil looking at regaining confidence post-stroke. This is a qualitative study, using an approach informed by IPA, Interpretive phenomenology analysis, in which she has a particular interest.
