Current Research

Kate Marsden's main area of research interest involves looking at the availability of medical notes in outpatient departments. She is currently working on An Independent Evaluation of the Implementation and Adoption of the National Health Service Care Records Service (NHS CRS) in Secondary Care in England, a cross sectional study in the outpatient departments of four NHS trusts to determine the proportion of outpatient encounters where there at least one clinically important item of information is missing.

  • This is a before and after study, qualitative and quantitative as well as longitudinal
  • Investigates the implementation of care records service in acute trusts and the availability of clinically important information in NHS outpatient secondary care settings
