Lecturer in Health Policy and Promotion, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Dr Rachael Murray achieved a 1st class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. She then went on to complete her Master's in Exercise Physiology from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana USA.
She joined the University of Nottingham in March 2004 as a Research Associate, completed her PhD fellowship funded by Cancer Research UK in June 2009, and was appointed as a lecturer in Health Policy & Promotion from August 2009.

Rachael Murray's current areas of general research interest are smoking and disadvantage, as well as tobacco control policy development. Her main research project involves running a trial that investigates smoking cessation interventions in secondary care. There was an initial audit of current smoking status recording and cessation support followed by a randomised controlled trial of systematic integration of smoking cessation support in secondary care.
