German Play and Workshop
Staff and students in the Department of German regularly produce a play each year.
To encourage local sixth form German students to attend these have been offered free tickets for all performances, workshops, further information on studying German at University and the opportunity to meet current students, all with a view to enhancing their studies.
Local Sixth-form student:
I thought the day was excellent. I learnt a bit about German culture in the 19th Century, but I thought the more important thing that I learnt was what it would be like to study German at University. I would recommend the event to a friend because it was very worthwhile.
Local German Teacher:
Our students said they thought it was a really good event and they liked the way the actors spoke to them in the interval to explain things they hadn’t understood. They also said that although some of it was quite fast, they were surprised at how much they understood. They would recommend it to students next year.
