At the start of the autumn term literature workshops have been offered in French, German and Spanish for A2 & IB students who have completed a year in the language in the sixth form.
Some pupils may not yet have studied literature in the target language and these sessions are designed to give them a taste of a text and to raise their awareness of studying literature should they choose to study languages at university.
So far these have run successfully in French using Voltaire’s Candide and Samuel Beckett's En Attendant Godot
French Lecturer:
I was extremely impressed with the students who attended. I thought they engaged beautifully with the play we looked at and it was particularly nice to see them so willing to speak up and share ideas. Their French was also very good indeed. It would be great to see any of them back to study French at Nottingham! Do pass on my thanks and best of luck with their studies to all who came along.
