In recent years there has been a massive resurgence of interest in the Latin epic poets writing in the late first century AD. Lucan’s Civil War , Valerius Flaccus’ Argonautica , Statius’ Thebaid and Achilleid and Silius Italicus’ Punica were very little read in the early twentieth century. AMPAH 2010
Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient History: University of Nottingham, March 2010
Nottingham postgraduates’ offer to host the 2010 Annual Meeting for Postgraduates in Ancient History (AMPAH) was accepted at the Reading meeting on 23rd March. The date for next year’s meeting is Saturday 20th March 2010, and the Call for Papers will be issued in October. More information about the conference.
