The Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence (VPH NoE), an umbrella project set up by the European Commission and funded through the Seventh Framework Programme, will hold the second of its conferences this year. VPH2012 will be an international conference on computational biomedicine, with a clear focus on the integrative aspects of VPH. Special attention will be given to the 'Digital Patient' as well as 'health forecasts'. VPH2012 aims at reaching outside of the VPH community to other equally important communities: systems biology and genomics. Four parallel sessions will be held with talks and poster sessions. The best VPH2012 papers will be later published in a special Interface Focus issue entitled "Integrative Approaches to Computational Biomedicine".
As part of the conference, members of the CMMB will be holding a workshop on the topic of The Mathematics of Multiscale Modelling, with specific application to modelling of the human physiome. Workshop themes will include, but will not be strictly limited to:
Interested researchers of both mathematical and non-mathematical disciplines are invited to attend. Registration for the VPH2012 conference will soon be open online via the above link. Note that the registration fee for VPH2012 will be €450 (€300 for students) and we regret that we are unlikely to be able to provide financial support.
Furthermore, we would like to invite expressions of interest from authors who would like to contribute to this workshop. Interested parties are asked to prepare a short abstract for their talk, following the guidelines given in the link above. Instructions for abstract submission are also available at the above location. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 29 February 2012; authors of selected talks will be notified by 31 May 2012.
