CMS training

Standard web training

Our web training is a full day course, covering two themes:

  • training in writing good content for the web
  • technical training in the use of the Contensis CMS

Access to the CMS is usually only provided if the full course has been taken.

Staff involved in the creation and maintenance of University websites can self-nominate for a course on the courses page, which also provides the schedule of courses. Please ensure that you have discussed this with your line manager and your Unit web co-ordinator before doing so, so that you will have a use for the skills you will learn within a short time of learning them.

To get the best from the course, you should have some familiarity with how to find and use web pages, and you should be able to use fairly standard computer software (like Microsoft Word) to find and edit documents on your computer.

Additional training

Some users may need further training. We also provide Site Admin Training for those with this level of responsibility: you must attend the Standard course before the Admin course. To register your interest in an Admin Course, please email the Web Team.

We plan to provide some further specialist training courses in future.
