We promote the University on a number of undergraduate study websites including the Guardian's online university profile and Hotcourses (see left screen grab). On each site we have an institutional profile promoting the University in general and linking to our online prospectus. We also have student profiles on the sites and videos on some.
Occasionally, we use online banner adverts (ads) to promote the undergraduate open days and encourage prospective students to click through to our site to find out more. Online advertising is much cheaper than advertising within publications and offers more flexibility in where to feature and how long for. Statistics of click-throughs can be provided annually, enabling us to monitor the success of the banner ad.
We have also supported schools with online banner ads. The School of Computer Science recently promoted their courses through use of an online banner ad at the top of the UCAS site where students had searched for computer science courses.
