Chinese students from Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) have been sharing their language and culture with children from schools in Bilborough and Radford as part of the NUBS Community Engagement Programme. The Programme has two strands - culture sharing and business support - and offers students an opportunity to share their knowledge and skills with local schools and organisations who in return provide a rich opportunity for students to practise their learning.
Eight students delivered sessions focusing on Chinese art, language and culture at Highwood Player Junior & Infant Schools and Robert Shaw Primary School. Many of the students are currently on an exchange visit from the University's campus in Ningbo, China and will be presented with certificates on 6th December acknowledging their contribution to the project. Further culture sharing sessions featuring France and Spain will take place in the new year.
The business support strand has a number of students working alongside the Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Forum and CORE - a social enterprise in The Meadows - to help deliver business-related projects over the course of the academic year.
