Eighteen voluntary and community sector organisations in Nottinghamshire are hosting 20 students as part of the University's Undergraduate Community Internship Programme (UCIP). The project aims to share the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm of bright, motivated students with local organisations who in return offer a valuable insight into working in the voluntary and community sector. Experience of the world of work is ever more valuable for students in the current employment market and the Programme has proved very popular amongst students.
Organisations taking part include Self Help Nottingham, Family Lives, Go Digit All, Community Accounting Plus, The Renewal Trust and Dunkirk and Lenton Partnership Forum. The students are from a variety of academic schools including Business, Politics, Maths, Computer Science, Sociology and English and they will be utilising their academic related skills in their placement. They will be helping organisations with research, IT developments, business planning and marketing/ communications.
The Community Partnerships Team runs the programme and would be happy to hear from any organisations who would like the support of students by way of placements
