Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) is one of the UK’s leading business schools and attracts high calibre students and staff from across the world. All undergraduate students are offered the opportunity to participate in the School’s Community Engagement Programme. This involves students working in small groups on real-life business projects that are of benefit to community organisations. The groups are supported by postgraduate and staff mentors.
Projects might involve help with business or marketing planning, support for devising a fundraising strategy, conducting some market research/ analysis or production of marketing materials. Students will typically spend a few hours each week on a project which will start in October each year. The benefits to participating organisations include access to motivated students studying current business practice which may lead to efficiency savings or increased revenue. The project also provides students with an insight into not-for-profit organisations which may lead on to the consideration of a career in the sector.
