Biography

Professor Graham Kendall is a member of the Automated, Scheduling, Optimisation and Planning Group in the School ofComputer Science & IT at the University of Nottingham. Prior to his academic career, he spent over 15 years in the IT industry where he managed over 50 people and was responsible for a variety of small, medium and large scale IT projects.

He is a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College(2003-2008) and is an associate editor of the International Journal of Systems Science and INFOR, the journal of the Canadian Operational Research Society. He is a member of the editorial board of Intelligent Systems in Accounting Finance and Management and Cognitive Neurodynamics.

Professor Kendall is the principal investigator on 4 currently active EPSRC awards and is co-investigator on 9 other currently active awards. In total, he has attracted over £5M in external funding. This includes an EPSRC PLATFORM award (GR/S70197/01, £423K) and a recent responsive mode award (EP/D061571/1,£2.6M).

Professor Kendall has published over 75 refereed papers in international journals andconferences, and 5 book chapters. He is also the editor of 8 books. He has chaired 6 international conferences, which includes establishing the MISTA (Multidisciplinary International Conference onScheduling : Theory and Applications) series of conferences, which have been run in Nottingham (2003), New York (2005) and Paris(2007); all chaired by Professor Kendall. He has served on over 80 programme/technical committees since 2000. He currently supervises 9 PhD students and has supervised 8 PhD students to completion.
