Description: 19 students began their NCI Spring Camp to China adventure on Monday 8 April, visiting Shanghai and Beijing in their first week. They immersed themselves in Mandarin lessons and a variety of cultural activities at Fudan University, including Chinese cooking sessions and dragon and lion dancing workshops. They also visited sites of historical interest in both cities, managing to take in the Bund, Yu Garden, Great Wall, Summer Palace and Forbidden City all within their first week!

Description: 15th March saw nearly 60 people take part in our last Mandarin Corner event of the spring term at the Si Yuan Centre. The theme of the event was "blue and white porcelain".

Description: Over the past four weeks, more than 200 participants took part in brush painting sessions funded by Nottingham Confucius Institute as part of our Year of the Dragon celebrations. They were led by local artist Feng-Ru Lee and took place at Lakeside Arts and King's Meadow Campus.

Description: Friday 24 November saw over 40 UoN staff, students and local residents come together for the last NCI Mandarin Corner event of the autumn term. The theme of the session was Chinese music and it began with a brief introduction to a variety of traditional Chinese musical instruments including bamboo flute, xun, hulusi, suona and guzheng, followed by some excellent performances by University of Nottingham student musicians.
