Resources for student writers
The University of Nottingham is an academic community in which all its members both learn from, and teach one another. We also learn from other learning communities such as business and industry. We access material through journals, textbooks, manuals and from the world wide web. We may hear ideas presented at conferences, in seminars and workshops.
Academic integrity requires us to respect the intellectual property of others from wherever it is obtained, so that we too can benefit from, and be protected by, the ethics of intellectual integrity.
Essentially, this requires us to carefully distinguish between our own ideas and the work, words and ideas of others.
