The Courses
Office provide information on procedures and regulations
for registering, making module choices, sitting exams and
graduating. If you are thinking of changing your course, talk
to your academic tutor, or contact the Student
Advice Team to discuss your options and the implications.
If you have any complaints, the Student
Support Office can help you through the relevant procedures.

Study skills
Advice and support on techniques for taking notes, writing
reports and essays etc. is available from the Academic Support . Information Services provide a Key
Skills online package to help identify and develop skills
alongside your academic study. For non-native English speakers,
support is available from the Centre
for English Language Education. Students with special
needs can contact Academic Support for support and access to facilities such
as a brailling suite and notetakers. Training opportunities
are provided by the Graduate
School for Postgraduates and by Information
Services for all students.

Exams
For details on exam regulations, assessment generally, dates
of upcoming exam periods and access to past exam papers, visit
the Courses
Office. Help on preparing for exams can be sought from
the Student
Advice Team and the Counselling Service can help with
dealing with exam stress. Special arrangements for exams can
be made for students with (for example) dyslexia or a broken
arm; contact the Courses
Office for details.

Computer access
Information Services
provide a number of user areas fitted with networked computers
for students to use, provide access to a dial-up service for
Postgraduates living off-campus and run a Student IT Helpline
to support your use of computers for your study. For students
living in Halls of Residence the Student
Network Service provides access to network facilities
from study bedrooms. Information Services provide training
for Postgraduates, as does the Graduate
School. Information Services also run a Basic
IT Skills programme for Undergraduates.
