ADoM Outcomes
- Raised awareness of the benefits of a service-oriented approach within the two partner HEIs and the wider e-Admissions community as well as building capacity in UCAS in this area
- A basis for effective and responsive systems and structures at national level via contribution to the national UCAS system, dissemination to the community of admissions professionals and consultation with subject-based practitioners
- A comprehensive description of the whole eAdmissions domain will help with understanding of policies, their implications and the implementation of appropriate processes to enact them. Our understanding will aid the further development of tools that will make processes more efficient and effective, as well as enabling the development of greater capability in line with policy objectives.
- The widespread dissemination of exemplars in the form of process models with their narrative context will enable sharing of good practice in eAdmissions across the sector and offer provision of a starting point for smaller institutions thinking about developing eAdmissions processes. This may in turn have an impact on FE admissions in institutions offering both FE and HE courses
- The work of the ADoM Project will link with the XCRI Project by giving detailed descriptions of the usage of courses information within the eAdmissions domain and from the perspective of staff operating in admissions.
- Use of less paper as institutions see the value and potential of doing things electronically.
