Prizes

The School of Economics awards the following prizes to undergraduate students on an annual basis:

For first year students

  • Martin Totty Prize for Outstanding Achievement (UNUK campus)*
  • School Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Undergraduate Year 1 (one for UNNC and one for UNMC campus)*
  • School Prize for Performance in Undergraduate Year 1 (up to four prizes across the three campuses)

For second year students

  • Martin Totty Prize for Outstanding Achievement (UNUK campus)*
  • School Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Undergraduate Year 2 (one for UNNC and one for UNMC campus)*
  • School Prize for Performance in Undergraduate Year 2 (up to six prizes across three campuses)

For third year students

  • Martin Totty Prize for Outstanding Achievement (UNUK campus)*
  • Sir Clive Granger Prize for Outstanding Achievement (UNUK campus)*
  • School Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Undergraduate Final Year (one for UNNC and one for UNMC campus)*
  • School Prize for Performance in Undergraduate Final Year (up to four prizes across three campuses)
  • Martin Totty Prize for Best Dissertation (any campus)*

In addition, the University will award the University Prize for Economics.

Prizes open to students in all years

  • Martin Totty Prize for Outstanding Entrepreneurship*
  • The Gainsborough Essay Prize*

Prizes marked with an * will be remunerated. Only first class students will be eligible for prizes.

Martin Totty is a Nottingham Alumnus (Economics 1978) and Chief Executive of Barbon Insurance Group.

Sir Clive Granger is a former Nottingham Economics PhD Student and staff member who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2003.
