Information for PresentersAll lecture rooms will be equipped with overhead projectors for use with acetate slides (slides and pens not provided). Laptop computers will also be provided. Please bring your presentations on CD Rom or USB memory stick only. General InformationThe University of Nottingham, University Park Campus is set in 330-acres
of extensive woodland, parks and playing fields and is located about
three miles west of Nottingham City Centre. Transportation For those who are not familiar with the University of Nottingham, it is easily accessible from the main UK airports. Those travelling from mainland Europe will find direct flights (and budget airline flights) to Nottingham East Midlands Airport or Birmingham International Airport. Those travelling from the US may find flights to these airports but more likely routes will be into London, either Heathrow or Gatwick. Nottingham East Midlands Airport is 13 miles from Nottingham and a taxi to the University will cost around £20. Alternatively there is a Skylink bus service from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to Nottingham City Centre (stopping at Friar Lane, just off the central Market Square). This service runs every 30 minutes, every day, and the trip takes approximately 45 minutes. Tickets cost £3.50. There is also a Rainbow 5 bus service from the airport, which costs £2 for a one-way trip. It goes to Nottingham City Centre (Broadmarsh Bus Station) and also stops close to the University, at QMC (the Queens Medical Centre). Note that this bus service does not operate on Sundays. Birmingham Airport is a two hour train ride to Nottingham but it is advisable to check train schedules from Birmingham International before booking flights. Heathrow Airport is a half-hour underground ride to London St Pancras mainline station, from where a train to Nottingham takes just under two hours. Gatwick Airport is almost a three hour train ride to Nottingham. Trains: There are trains every hour from London St Pancras to Nottingham. Nottingham train station is adjacent to Nottingham City Centre. UK train schedules can be accessed at www.nationalrail.co.uk Coaches: National Express run coaches from Heathrow and Gatwick Airports to Broadmarsh Bus Station, in Nottingham City Centre.
