Summer School

Wednesday 24 July - Friday 9 August 2013

Please note applications for Summer School must be received by 1 July.

Summer School is an opportunity to experience short study blocks and gain a Masters degree during the Summer vacation. Attracting participants from the UK and around the world, this is a vibrant learning community working with leading figures in the field of education.

You can study one or two 30-credit modules in intensive teaching blocks, with continued academic support available during the subsequent period of self-guided study. Summer School modules can be combined with modules offered during other semesters.

From Summer School 2013, in order to comply with University regulations, it is important for Summer School students to understand that choosing to study two modules at Summer School will become a major commitment as both assignments will need to be submitted in January 2014.

Please discuss the study and workload implications further with the module tutor if you would like to pursue this pathway.

The social aspects of Summer School are encouraged and you will make new friends and rejoin old ones when you return for a second summer.

"I have enjoyed the summer school process. It has made it easier for me to attend and learn. The collaborative culture of the group has helped give me a much wider perspective and really helped me to understand the theory" Helen Atkinson

The Masters programmes offered during Summer School are:

"Summer School has been really enlightening and inspiring. I have enjoyed re-activating my mind and meeting such a diverse range of people, each with their own academic journey and vastly different contexts" Dean El-Hoss
