The Centre for Research in Schools and Communities was established in 2010 and focuses on building knowledge about and for:

• people who work in schools and school communities - teachers, teaching assistants, counsellors, and health, youth and welfare workers
• the work of leading and managing schools
• curriculum, pedagogical and assessment practices that are not only relevant and rigorous, but also allow teachers and all students to engage in creative and mutually rewarding activities, events and conversations.

Research in the Centre is organised around two main themes:
