Visiting Academics and Postdoctoral Scholars

The School of Education welcomes inquiries from academics and postdoctoral scholars who wish to spend shorter or longer periods based in the  School for research purposes. We anticipate that visitors will contribute to our vibrant research environment, our international profile, and our research activity.

We invite all our visitors to present a research seminar during their stay.

Anyone who wishes to visit the School should first approach a member of staff, in one of our research centres, with whom they plan to work during their stay and who is willing to write in support of the visit.  Requests should be made on the visiting academic form in the first instance.

We are able to provide academic visitors with a dedicated visiting scholar’s workspace and with mail, telephone and computer network access.  Visitors can use their own webmail provision or a University email account.  Library and photocopying access will be provided.

A bench fee is normally charged, set according to our Visiting Scholars Policy.
