tbcHow do I buy Linden Dollars for Second Life

Tutorial overview

This tutorial explains how to buy money to spend in Second Life.

This tutorial is rated as - 2 Computers - Moderately technical

You'll need the following software - Second Life

You'll need the following hardware - See the Second Life website for minimum requirements.

The currency in Second Life is Linden Dollars (L$). You can see how much money you have by looking at the top right of the Second Life viewer. When you first log in you will have L$0 until you buy some dollars.

If you are new to Second Life you are likely to be limited to buying around £7 of currency to be exchanged into L$. This is roughly equivalent to L$2,000, which can last quite a while, but if you need to obtain more you will have to either wait or upgrade your account from Basic (free) to Premium. For more information about the limits see currency limits on the Second Life website.

When buying currency we highly recommend that you use an exchange website which uses your Second Life currency limit. For example, the LindeX Exchange or Ansche Chung's Dreamland.

Follow the instructions on your chosen exchange website to buy currency, initially exchanging very small amounts and checking while logged into Second Life that payment has gone through.
