This tutorial explains how to edit your profile in Second Life.

Your profile is what other residents will see when they search for you or add you as a friend. By default it contains your Second Life name, registration date and details of any groups to which you belong. Follow these steps to add more information to it:

1. Select Edit > Profile to bring up the Profile window.
2. Enter information in the Profile window over the several tabs provided.
   Information you can add includes that about your avatar, your interests, your favourite Second Life places as well as information about you in real life (1st Life).
3. To stop your profile appearing in searches you can uncheck the Show in search checkbox on the 2nd Life tab.
4. Click OK to save your changes.
